All websites of Maldives government shut down after Maldives minister statement against India: Untraceable Maldives worried
Maldives President, Foreign Ministry and Tourism Websites go down and are unreachable. Development came to light hours after Maldives Government sponsored trolls attacked India and Indian Government with vile remarks even after years of Indian Govt support to Maldives.
Maldives Government said some UNKNOWN PEOPLE are behind this. They are still not able to find out who did this.
The derogatory remarks made by a Maldives minister against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been condemned widely. Former Maldives president Mohamed Nasheed condemned saying, “What appalling language by Maldives Government official @shiuna_m towards the leader of a key ally, that is instrumental for Maldives' security and prosperity".
Indian celebrities, including Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Sachin Tendulkar, appeal to people to explore Indian islands like Lakshwadeep and Sindhudurg.
Akshay Kumar tweets, "Came across comments from prominent public figures from Maldives passing hateful and racist comments on Indians. Surprised that they are doing this to a country that sends them the maximum number of tourists. We are good to our neighbors but why should we tolerate such unprovoked hate? I've visited the Maldives many times and always praised it, but dignity first. Let us decide to #ExploreIndianIslands and support our own tourism."
